Packed and ready to go!

Well, I have double checked my gear to make sure that I don't forget anything.... and I'm ready to go.  My flight out is at 6:00am Friday.  Not much left to do but get a good night's sleep and get up early.

I'm looking forward to meeting the folks at Taylor - everything I have heard from fellow umpires who have been to previous Junior World Series is that we will be well taken care of.  I am also anxious to meet my 'teammates' for the next week.  There are umpires from all over the world coming to Taylor.  I think in a previous post, I neglected to mention that there is one coming in from down under - Melbourne!

Friday's schedule is fairly relaxed, with a get together picnic at the field.  The festivities get going on Saturday with an umpires meeting, followed by a meeting with all of the coaches, managers and umpires.  After that comes the Opening Day ceremonies, capped off with a night of fireworks.  And then, the games begin on Sunday.

But I get ahead of myself.  Right now, it is the anticipation of what is to come.
